Meet our Ivy Ambassador, Guy Tullberg, MD of renowned Wiltshire Firm Tracklements

My 'Moon Under the Water' Moment
When I first heard that The Ivy in Heddington might close, my first thoughts turned to George Orwell.
My first memories of The Ivy were from my childhood. My Father, William, moved to Wiltshire in the late 60’s to join Harris’s as Marketing Director. He loved pubs, but in particular trips out to Heddington for a pint or two of 6X. I was lucky enough to be introduced to 6X as a teenager with a cheeky half out in the garden. I moved back to Calne to work with my father in 1984, which was when a much more serious love affair began with The Ivy!
William Tullberg founded Tracklements in 1970, with a range of the first UK manufactured wholegrain mustards which were made to accompany the sausages for which Wiltshire is justly famous. For a few years, he continued to run and cook in his restaurant until Tracklements began to sell more and more with a growing following.
I was the fourth employee, and almost every day after work we’d head out to Heddington to be at the Ivy for bang on 6.00pm. Sid would open the door, give us a warm welcome, and without asking pour 2 pints of 6X into two mugs, straight from the wood. In the winter, there’d be a roaring fire and always good company and lots of general chatter.
That was my ‘Moon Under the Water’ moment. Sometimes, I fall asleep dreaming of The Ivy and all that’s wonderful and perfect about this icon of a pub and the part it’s played in my life and Tracklements life! In fact, the inspiration for many of our best ideas were hatched in The Ivy over a pint…
