Auction raises over £4000

The 2024 Heddigton Harvest Auction raised a staggering £4,121.50 for the Friends of The Ivy ‘Save The Ivy’ campaign.

Thanks to auctioneer Tony Walker, and to Dave Mort, Matt Wheeler and Jonathan Conning for running the bar; and our official photographer Mae Brown. Also a big thank you to Duffy who at 90 years old still knows his way around a harvest auction and is still hands on; to all those who donated items and promises; and to the people who turned up on the night and helped make it such a big success.

And of course a massive thanks to Lynda Brown and everyone else who helped to organise the Harvest Auction and resurrect this long-standing Heddington tradition.

The items that sold for the most money were:

  • Six-month membership at St Mary’s Calne Sports Club: £175
  • Drone competency course with the Drone Pilot Academy: £160
  • An antique plate which was found on the cargo ship the Duke of Buccleuth which sank in 1889 (donated by Jane Syckelmoore): £170
